The Cliffs of Moher are sea cliffs located at the
southwestern edge of the Burren region in County Clare, Ireland. They run for
about 14 kilometers (8.7 miles) along the Atlantic coast, and reach a maximum
height of 214 meters (702 feet) at O'Brien's Tower. The Cliffs of Moher are one
of Ireland's most popular tourist attractions, and offer stunning views of the
Atlantic Ocean and the Aran Islands.
The Cliffs of Moher were formed over 300 million years ago,
when the area was covered by a shallow sea. As the sea level dropped, the
limestone cliffs were exposed. The cliffs are home to a variety of plants and
animals, including seabirds, seals, and dolphins.
